Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about protecting sensitive data across the AI tools your team uses.
What is Mudcor?
Mudcor is enterprise-grade AI data protection. It shows an organization every AI tool its people use and stops sensitive information, like customer records, credentials, and source code, from being shared with those tools. Content never leaves the device.
How do I stop employees from pasting sensitive data into ChatGPT?
Set a rule once in Mudcor. When someone is about to share a card number, a password, a client record, or proprietary code with an AI tool, Mudcor steps in at that moment: it can quietly record it, warn the person, or stop it entirely, depending on the rule you chose.
Can Mudcor see what our employees type into AI tools?
No. Detection happens on the device itself, and the content of what people type is never sent to Mudcor. Your dashboard shows that something sensitive was caught, in which tool, and what happened, never the content itself.
What is shadow AI, and how do I find it in my company?
Shadow AI is the set of AI tools your people use without approval or oversight. Mudcor discovers the AI tools in use across your organization and shows which ones have been reviewed and which are pending review, so nothing operates in the dark.
What kinds of sensitive data does Mudcor protect?
Nine kinds: credentials and API keys, financial information, personal information, health information, source code, confidential business documents, internal systems details, files, and custom watch-words you define for your business.
Which AI tools does Mudcor cover?
Mudcor covers the AI tools organizations actually use, across more than one hundred services, with the most widely used tools protected from the moment you install. Coverage grows continuously.
Does Mudcor block AI tools entirely?
Only if you want it to. Most organizations let their teams keep using AI and simply set rules for what kinds of information can be shared with each tool. Blocking a whole tool is one option, not the default.
Do employees know Mudcor is running?
Yes. When Mudcor steps in, the person sees a clear explanation of what was caught and why. If they choose to continue past a warning, that choice is recorded and visible to their admin. There is no silent surveillance.
Does Mudcor slow down the browser?
No. Checks run on the device in a few milliseconds, and browsing is unaffected.
Does Mudcor train AI on our data?
No. Mudcor never sees the content of what your people type, so there is nothing to train on. The service exists to keep your data out of AI systems, including ours.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Sign in with your work account, install the browser extension, and protection begins. Rules you set apply across your team within about a minute.
How much does Mudcor cost?
There is a free plan for small teams in watch mode. The paid plan is 7 dollars per person per month, with a 5-person minimum, and adds warnings, blocking, custom watch-words, and network protection across your whole office network. The first purchase comes with a 30 day full refund, no questions asked.
Which browsers does Mudcor support?
Chrome and Edge, with the same experience in both.
We already have a policy that says do not paste company data into AI. Why do we need Mudcor?
Policies describe intent. Mudcor enforces it at the exact moment it matters, and shows you it is working. Most AI data leaks are accidents by well-meaning people, and a written policy cannot catch an accident in progress.
Can I try it before rolling it out to everyone?
Yes. Start on the free plan with a small group, watch what it finds for a week, then decide the rules and roll out to the rest of the team.
